So in light of my first cavity in almost 20 years, I am feeling a little calm. I have been doing the “dating” thing for a while, and well, there is nothing out there. I mean is there a point to all of this? So many people running around looking to make connections.
It’s almost like a hurricane, when you’re sitting directly in the eye, and all you feel is overwhelming calm. Hurricane Harvey is far worse than what we experienced here in New York with Sandy, but it makes you realize how powerless you really are to nature and this Earth. Everything you have or you think you own can all be lost in the flash of a second, and that puts things into perspective for a lot of us.
We are all trying to acquire something. Whether it be wealth, the perfect home, the perfect mate, what we don’t realize is that it can all be gone in a second. You must live in the moment, you must live for today. IF you need to pray then do it. If you need to call up that friend you haven’t spoken to in years, then do it. If you never traveled somewhere and you always wanted to go then do it. If you have been laying in your bed all day because you’re in the grips of depression or a dreadful bipolar low, and you’ve been thinking about a shower for the past four hours, then do it.
The point is do it. I let my mouth hurt for over three weeks, and I should have gotten that filling. Now that I finally went to the dentist and got the filling, I am still in pain, which means I will probably need a root canal. All I had to do what do it, (get the filling), when It wasn’t so bad, now it is ten times worse.
Moral of the story? Just do it.
